CFMOTO 1000SR-RR V4: Superbike Development Reaches 196mph Milestone

CFMOTO’s V4 superbike project is turning ambition into performance. Known as the 1000SR-RR and officially presented as the V4 SR-RR prototype, the machine has recorded a GPS-verified top speed of 315.82km/h — approximately 196.2mph. For riders following its development here at Smalley Cross, it’s an exciting indication of what could lie ahead.

The project has progressed from the V4 engine announced in late 2024 to a complete prototype unveiled at EICMA in Milan in November 2025. CFMOTO describes it as a platform for developing future high-performance motorcycles, with engineers working on power delivery, weight reduction and aerodynamic efficiency.

At its heart is a newly developed 997cc, 90-degree V4 engine, with CFMOTO quoting more than 210 horsepower. The EICMA prototype combined that engine with a claimed kerb weight below 200kg, semi-active electronic suspension and an Akrapovič exhaust system — an ambitious package aimed squarely at the premium sports bike class. These are development figures and features, rather than confirmed specifications for a UK production model.

One of the prototype’s most distinctive features is its active aerodynamic winglets. According to CFMOTO UK, these are designed to adjust automatically to optimise downforce and stability at speed. They also show how closely the bike’s striking appearance is tied to its engineering, with aerodynamics playing a central role in the project.

The development programme reached a significant milestone on 15 June 2026, when an engineering prototype achieved its 315.82km/h result at a closed testing facility in Shangrao, China. CFMOTO says the run was completed by professional riders with independent supervision and verification. It provides a tangible demonstration of the project’s progress beyond the show stand.

For UK riders, the next question is when that development might lead to a showroom model. CFMOTO UK’s published updates still describe the V4 SR-RR as a prototype or concept, and the announcements reviewed do not confirm UK pricing, a launch date or final production specifications. There is plenty to be excited about, with further details still to come.
